Green Glyphs Lenormand

he first thing I noticed is the quality of this product. The sturdy one piece box has a simple and elegant design and a magnetic closure. The coloured guidebook that greets you when you first open the box is one of the best guidebooks I’ve ever read (and we’ll come back to this later).

Indie Deck Review
Mykologia is a mushroom inspired Oracle deck by @l Mykologia is a mushroom inspired Oracle deck by @littlesparrowmagick . This deck is so cute & interesting! I love the illustrations - they are sweet & simple & I wish I could touch those mushies. So much cottagecore vibes in these illustrations. The square shape of the cards is one of my favorites. I have used Oracle decks with square shaped cards and love how each card has four meanings depending on how they are pulled. I don’t study mushroom medicine (and would love y’all to chime in if you have anything to share!) but the cool scientific facts woven into Lillas metaphysical musings in the guidebook is a fun read. She has used all kinds of fungi for this deck - trippy Alice In Wonderland pals, drippy goth pals, puffy pals, wavy pals. It’s so fun to see the variety of fungi in the deck. The cards are slightly thin but with the square shape I wouldn’t ruffle shuffle them anyways. I am excited to play with this deck! REVIEW BY: @felixidocious

The Cosmic Shaman Oracle deck is created by @cosmi The Cosmic Shaman Oracle deck is created by @cosmicshamanoracledeck & @littlesparrowmagick & was released in October 2020. I want to be honest - the word shaman doesn’t sit well with me, especially when paired with the word cosmic. A big part is my personal history in New Age & holistic health worlds - and the rest lie within my workings as an anti racist witch. In reviewing this deck, I have researched the creators backgrounds as much as I am able. There’s not a lot to find. And when looking at & working with this Oracle deck, I’m not sure why the name was Cosmic Shaman was chosen. The idea behind the deck is interesting. Based entirely on binary & polarity, this deck is very literal, clear & concise. Each card is paired with its opposite - being/doing, day/night, contract/expand. The art is mostly text based with some small illustration of clouds & glyphs. There are affirmations or phrases associated with each card as well. The deck does not come with a guidebook; rather there are cards within the deck that explain how to use the deck & a card with all the card combos. I appreciate the openness of this design for the reader to apply their own perspective to the words. A mostly text based deck isn’t my vibe but I recognize that not everyone thinks like me (thank goddess) & can imagine there are folx who can vibe with this design. The cards are big & slightly thin so shuffle with care! REVIEWED BY: @felixidocious

When I saw Bobby’s selfie outreach happening I s When I saw Bobby’s selfie outreach happening I sent him a message and asked if I could do one. He chose Witch for my card. She’s steps in as Priestess in this delightfully delicious deck.
I fussed and fretted about this selfie. This morning I remembered that this, this messy hair, get work done, practicality first version of me is my truest version. This is the Witch that knows, and I’m pretty happy to be her.

@outsidertarot is launching on 2/8/21
I hope you’ll support this brilliant deck, and it’s lovely & dear to me creator.

She Beholds is a deck with imagery that evokes ins She Beholds is a deck with imagery that evokes inspiration and calm. Jessika Björhn used her Masters of Fine Art to create this deck of light and magic. I could hear Enya playing in my head as I looked through each card of this deck. The large format of the 3"x 5" cards gives the collage art of each image to breathe.

She Beholds is the perfect deck to draw a card each day for reflection. Personally, I found pulling a card each morning gave me the opportunity to set my mood and focus on a theme for the day. Alternatively, you can pull a card each afternoon or evening for meditation.

The keywords on each card cover a wide range of subjects without being too specific. I appreciate the bright white script font that is legible. I also appreciate the numbers on each card that coincide with the guidebook.

For each card the guidebook offers thought provoking questions, statements, and ideas. These contribute to the potential for journaling, meditation, and reflection as previously mentioned. Because this deck only has 2 people in the 44 cards, I decided not to fill out a Real World Review form.

She Beholds is a gorgeous deck with beautiful images and gentle loving energy. If you want a copy for yourself, check out @she_beholds_oracle.

GOTHMANCY TAROT // Another anticipated deck on my GOTHMANCY TAROT // Another anticipated deck on my list, the Gothmancy Tarot! This luscious Gothmancy Tarot is themed around goth, punk rock, and new wave. Sprinkled through this deck are many easter eggs and familiar faces like The Crimson Ghost (Misfits), David Bowie, Vincent Price, the legendary Divine, Boy George and so many more. Did I mention the Addams Family, too?

The Gothmancy Tarot is a 78-card deck that comes with a great little guidebook, gold stamped drawstring bag, and a beautiful black tuck box featuring gold or purple foil accents. I really love the cardstock, it was printed through the Expert Playing Card Co.... need I say more? It shuffles like butter and feels great in my hands. The cards are a soft matte, satin like feel and I love how they look in a spread. So much detail can be gleaned from each card, the deck makes for a great intuitive read!

I couldn’t resist getting this deck shuffling, my first pull was pretty on point to boot! Visually, they read very well coming from a “say what you see” viewpoint, but also carry the weight of traditional imagery. I think this deck would work great for beginners all the way up to well seasoned readers. The guidebook has a good amount of info for each card. The Major Arcana section gives you a bit more information on the symbolism and occult aspects of the cards, which I found really neat!

So far I am absolutely enjoying this deck, it’s well done and stunning! Even if you’re not into punk rock or goth, you can still easily work with this deck, I’m even pretty sure you will recognize a lot of the faces in this deck... even Frankenstein's monster and Elvira is in this deck!

The Nursemaid's 36 Tales is a breathtaking Lenorma The Nursemaid's 36 Tales is a breathtaking Lenormand deck by Alexander Daniloff. This Japanese horror story themed deck marks a drastic departure from the artist's distinct art style and truly captures his talent and creativity.
⠀
The images takes the standard items found in a Lenormand deck and replaces them with traditional Japanese monsters that range from intimidating to downright terrifying. Being somewhat arachnophobic, my heart nearly burst the first time I saw the Sun card, depicted as a spider whose body is covered in skulls.
⠀
So, being a scaredy cat who gets nightmares after reading Goosebump novels, why on earth did I purchase this deck?!
⠀
Well, as frightening as some of those creatures are, I am more drawn to than repulsed by them. These cards really do feel like tales old nursemaids tell to scare and teach children. While the children would squeal with fear, they would also lean in with wide eyes to hear the tales. It’s as though these monsters are guardians to ancient secrets, revealing their wisdom only to those who are foolish and brave enough to confront them.
⠀
While all images are captivating, not all of them are immediately recognizable as the Lenormand objects they represent. As I'm not an expert Lenormand reader, I had to refer to my Lenny handbook to see that card 8 is Coffin (it's depicted as an urn), 20 is Garden and 27 is Letter. However, this is only a one time issue. Now that I know what they represent, the pictures make sense and I can easily see what they depict.
⠀
Measuring 70 x 120 mm (2.75" x 4.75"), these cards are bigger than your typical Lenormand deck.
⠀
The deck also comes with two extra cards that can replace the Man and Woman.
⠀
This deck can’t be purchased directly on the artist’s website. Rather, those interested should email him instead. I found the ordering process very smooth and the creator incredibly easy to work with.

The Cosmic Visions Tarot by Jessica Shackleton is The Cosmic Visions Tarot by Jessica Shackleton is a psychedelic dream come true!

I am always drawn to this style of artwork, but usually shy away from it because it doesn’t quite resonate with me. This deck however definitely hit home! When I first saw it on Kickstarter I did my usual wavering, but then really looked at the cards and immediately backed it. It wasn’t only the artwork, but the creator’s detailed attention and the way they talked about the deck that sold me.

Now that I have the deck in hand, I couldn’t be more thrilled that I was one of the many supporters in its creation. The cards are a perfect cardstock with a beautifully silky finish with a sleek black edging. The colors are wonderfully vibrant and even the font is sexy. The deck comes packaged in an awesome two part box with a gorgeous illustration on the top. The included book is written in very real language and provides amazing insight into the cards making this a great deck for beginners as well as seasoned readers.

Looking through each card I was faced with why I usually stay away from the psychedelic style. I realized that most things I’ve encountered have more of an element of escapism and seem almost trippy just to be trippy. This deck however is incredibly authentic and depicts the transcendence that can happen in our journeys. When you start to truly connect to the universe beyond our normal human experience it can be a WILD ride for sure!!

The cards have a beautiful balance between serious authenticity and a fun playfulness. Yes, there is the depth of the dark and painful that we all know too well, but there is also a lightheartedness that reminds us to not take things too seriously and to try to enjoy the ride. Take The Hierophant -  they are depicted in a solemn meditation as a cosmic being is sharing energy from their mouth to to the Hierophant’s crown chakra. When I first looked at this card, I thought the universe was vomiting into the poor soul, which honestly sometimes feels far too accurate when you connect with your higher self and the greater whole!
